HOW TO APPLY & FAQ

HOW TO APPLY

The Bakuchiol Oil Serum can be applied in the morning or evening:

  1. Thoroughly cleanse your skin.
  2. Moisten your skin with water or a mild toner such as rose water. The oil serum should be applied onto slightly damp skin, enabling it to best soak into your skin.
  3. Now apply 4 to 5 drops of the oil serum onto your damp skin.
  4. Massage the oil serum gently into your skin. After just a few minutes, the oil serum has completely soaked into the skin. Enjoy your silky-smooth and glowing skin!

Tip: You can also use The Bakuchiol Oil Serum as an active-ingredient booster. Just add a few drops of the oil serum to your favourite skincare product.

Unlike retinol, Bakuchiol does not make the skin sensitive to light. However, we recommend using sun protection as usual during the day.

Our oil serum is perfect as a base oil for Gua Sha or jade roller massages. It is also ideal for gentle post-treatment after face brushing.

Our Bakuchiol Oil Serum contains powerful active botanical ingredients in high concentrations. We therefore recommend that you perform a patch test before you incorporate the oil serum into your skincare routine. In this way, you can easily rule out an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. Simply apply a coin-sized amount of The Bakuchiol Oil Serum to your cheek and wait for at least 24 hours. If redness or skin irritation occurs, you should not use the oil serum.

During pregnancy or breastfeeding, please discuss individually with your doctor whether a Bakuchiol-containing skincare product can be used.

FAQ

When is the best time to use The Bakuchiol Oil Serum?

We recommend using The Bakuchiol Oil Serum as part of your evening routine, as it can optimally support your skin cell regeneration at night.

Can I also use The Bakuchiol Oil Serum during the day?

Yes! The Bakuchiol Oil Serum can be used during the day without any problems because, unlike synthetic retinol, it does not make the skin photosensitive.

In which step of my beauty routine do I use The Bakuchiol Oil Serum?

We recommend using The Bakuchiol Oil Serum within your evening routine after toner and water-based serums, such as a hyaluronic acid serum. This allows the oil serum to lock in the moisture previously added more optimally. There is no need to use a night cream afterwards, as the squalane contained in the serum is very rich and nourishing. The next morning you wake up with a radiant glow and wonderfully supple skin.

Is The Bakuchiol Oil Serum suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, our Bakuchiol Oil Serum is ideal for sensitive skin. Unlike synthetic retinol, which can cause skin redness and flaking in high doses, the natural plant extract bakuchiol is very well tolerated even in high doses, such as the effective 1% concentration used in our serum.

In addition, like all our skincare products, The Bakuchiol Oil Serum is mildly formulated and contains no alcohol, preservatives, fragrances, essential oils or other potentially irritating ingredients. At the same time, our ingredients have been proven to strengthen the skin barrier, which is fantastic for all skin types, including those struggling with sensitivity.

ruhi TIP: We always recommend testing a new skincare product on a small area of skin before adding it to your skincare routine. This way, you can easily rule out an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients.

Why do you use a clear bottle for The Bakuchiol Oil Serum?

Bakuchiol is an active ingredient that is stable even when exposed to light and oxidation. For this reason, a transparent glass bottle can be used without compromising its effectiveness. It’s also good to note that, unlike bakuchiol, synthetic retinol is very unstable and should always be filled in opaque vials.

NOTE

Please discuss individually with your doctor whether a skincare product containing bakuchiol can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
