The Adaptogen Biomimetic Barrier Cream is a slow-aging innovation whose lamellar structure is inspired by the DMS principle of medical barrier creams (DMS = Derma-Membrane-Structure). Based on phosphatidylcholine and skin-identical lipids, the biomimetic barrier cream mimics the lamellar structure of the skin. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural component of our cell membranes and the key ingredient in our biomimetic formulation. It spontaneously forms lamellar structures that resemble the lipid layers of the skin barrier. This allows the cream to literally merge with the skin and transport active ingredients exactly where they are needed. This principle is known in medical skin care as DMS (Derma Membrane Structure).

VITAMIN F (LINOLEIC ACID, OLEIC ACID & LINOLENIC ACID)

Vitamin F is a collective term for essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself. The skin needs them to form ceramides and keep the skin barrier intact. A lack of Vitamin F often manifests as dryness, flakiness, and increased sensitivity. In our Barrier Cream, linoleic acid, oleic acid, and linolenic acid provide precisely these building blocks.

What is the DMS principle?

DMS stands for Derma-Membrane Structure and is a principle from medical skincare. DMS formulations rely on phosphatidylcholine, a natural building block of our cell membranes.

This naturally forms so-called lamellar structures: parallel lipid layers that are constructed in the same way as the skin's protective layers. This allows the cream to seamlessly integrate into the skin barrier instead of just remaining on the surface.

What are lamellar structures?

The skin barrier does not consist of a single layer of fat, but of many thin lipid layers that lie parallel on top of each other.

You can imagine it like puff pastry: layer by layer, they retain moisture in the skin and keep harmful substances out. Our Barrier Cream imitates precisely this structure.

The advantage: The cream merges with the skin barrier instead of just sitting “on top.” Active ingredients reach where they are actually needed, and the skin barrier is repaired from within.

Was unterscheidet die Adaptogen Biomimetic Barrier Cream von anderen (Barriere-) Cremes?

Der wichtigste Unterschied liegt in ihrer Struktur. Unsere Adaptogen Biomimetic Barrier Cream ist nach dem Derma-Membran-Struktur-Prinzip (DMS) aus der medizinischen bzw. dermatologischen Hautpflege formuliert.

Auf Basis von Phosphatidylcholin, einem natürlichen Bestandteil unserer Zellmembranen, bildet sie von selbst sogenannte lamellare Strukturen – das sind viele dünne Lipidschichten, die parallel übereinanderliegen, ähnlich wie bei Blätterteig.

Genau so ist auch die natürliche Hautbarriere aufgebaut. Dadurch verschmilzt die Creme förmlich mit der Haut, statt nur obenauf zu liegen, und bringt ihre Wirkstoffe genau dorthin, wo sie gebraucht werden.

Warum ist unsere Barriere Creme besonders gut geeignet, um eine geschwächte Hautbarriere zu reparieren?

Ja. Die Creme ist naturkosmetisch formuliert, zu 99,9% natürlichen Ursprungs, enthält 67% Bio-Inhaltsstoffe, ist vegan und tierleidfrei sowie nicht komedogen. Sie kommt ohne ätherische Öle, austrocknende Alkohole und Duftstoffe aus.
